In college we watched many bitflims made by independant animators who made their animations in their professtional way to impress judges and the people watching and also to show off their work maybe some of them wanted to get jobs as animators or become intagrated into a bigger animation company such as PIXAR.
Animaters also can have a big role in game development like cinimatic scenesfor the game in certain parts or lead in the game.
